A responsive reading based on 1 Kings 19:9-13 

God, You were not in the violent wind.
            Although You will use it to get our attention. 

You were not in the mighty earthquake.

            Although You will use it to get our attention.

 You were not in the fire.

            Although You will use it to get our attention.

 You were in a still, small voice.

            A gentle whisper, a tender murmur.

 And so we know that once You have gotten our attention,

            You speak tenderly to us.

 Thank You for speaking a language we can understand

            so we can learn more about Your incredible love.
